Wharefdale Evo 4.4 Speakers are an exceptional pair of 3 way speakers that have won the 2019 What Hi-fi award for the best floor-standing speaker.

They are the flagship floorstanders in the Evo range of speakers. Featuring 6.5" Woven Kevlar Bass Driver,  2" Soft Dome mid, and 55x80mm AMT HF driver system.

The Wharfedale Evo 4.4 speakers have been developed with technologies and quality materials to provide a high quality sound at an affordable price. Working to evolve the sound quality, Wharfedale have based the Evo series off concepts from their popular Elysian speakers to promise high-end sound but with a smaller price tag.

AMT Tweeter

Evo 4.4 incorporate the same technology as Wharfedale's flagship Elysian speakers such as the Air Motion transformer (AMT) tweeter, a high-frequency driver that provides minimal distortion and maximum accuracy by moving the air in a different way then a conventional dome.

Dynamic performance from anywhere in the room

The Evo 4.4 is designed with large scale sound in mind, ideal for home cinema systems. Combining the AMT tweeter with with a fabric dome mid-range the speakers ensures listeners are met with a dynamic reach and clear defined sound wherever they are in the room.

Weighing nearly as much as the EVO 4.4 towers, EVO 4.C plays with explosive dynamics and sweet, refined upper-register detail. If you want to catch every word of critical dialogue and feel the full impact of center-stage action, EVO 4.C will elevate your movie and gaming experiences.

Equipped with dual 6.5-inch, bidirectional, black-woven Kevlar cone woofers that incorporate a self-damping material that reduces resonances to extremely low levels – as well as a fixed, profiled phase plug to ensure a smooth acoustic roll-off that enables the drivers to mesh with EVO 4.C's specially designed Air Motion Transformer tweeter and two-inch silk midrange driver – this high-value component delivers incredibly wide dispersion of high-frequencies, articulate bass, and immersive soundstaging.

EVO 4.C's crossover also deserves special mention. Using the company's custom-designed Computer Aided Optimization technology during extensive listening tests, Wharfedale engineers carefully fine-tuned the crossover to the point that EVO 4.C achieves balanced integration of its driver, woofer, and tweeter.

Measuring 9.8 x 29.5 x 13.8 inches (HWD) and weighing a shade more than 45 pounds, EVO 4.C fits in tight cabinet spaces all the while its 90dB sensitivity means it can be driven by a wide range of amplifiers.

AMT

Accuracy
Articulate and accurate bass is perfected by the bi-directional weaved Kevlar cones, a material that is naturally self-damping to reduce and distribute resonances to virtually negligible levels. In addition, a fixed, profiled phase plug ensures smooth acoustic roll-off, further aiding integration with the AMT HF unit and midrange drivers.

Evo4.s

Wharfedale’s new EVO4 has grown out of the extensive research and development that produced the ELYSIAN flagship loudspeakers and borrows much of the technology involved in ELYSIAN.

The primary focus is on the AMT development resulting in a radically different way of reproducing high frequency detail efficiently and accurately. Similar cabinet technology to ELYSIAN provides a stable and solid foundation for the drive units with radiused edges to help integrate the driver output with the room acoustics. In addition the unique SLPP bass reflex system, as developed for ELYSIAN, is now incorporated in EVO4.

WCM-80

Wharfedale WCM-80 In-Ceiling Speakers (Pair) brings Wharfedale sound to the Custom Installation market at an affordable price point. WCM-80 features a 1" Titaninum swivel NEO tweeter for optimised positioning.

Trimless

WCM-80 incorporates an edgeless design for discreet installation with magnetically attached grilles, optionally available in a square shape, which ensures a flawless blend with the wall or ceiling. The simplistic and discreet exterior hides the advanced drivers and crossover networks that are housed within.

High Quality

The robust polypropylene cone is paired with an ultra-durable, high-excursion rubber surrounds maintaining stability under high pressure and extensive bass output. Titanium dome tweeters with highly efficient neodymium motor systems complete the wide frequency response with a scintillating high frequency and wide dispersion. 

Features

WCM-80 speakers also feature gold plated spring loaded terminals, an easy install safe lock mechanism as well as thermal tweeter protection. It also offers +/- 3dB bass & treble controls.
